Mobile wireless terminals, such as vehicles in traffic, can determine the relative positions of other vehicles with improved precision by arranging to acquire GNSS (global navigational satellite system) signals simultaneously, and then analyzing the various data sets differentially. Simultaneous acquisition can cancel many important errors such as motional errors of the vehicles, atmospheric distortions, and satellite timebase errors. Differential analysis to determine the relative positions of vehicles (as opposed to their overall geographical coordinates) can reduce errors related to satellite ephemeris and velocity, as well as roundoff errors. System and methods for tracking events in a sports game using one or more event input devices. Each event input device tracks a subset of the game events and the devices work together to provide a simplified input experience by sharing input and context from other event input devices. Since the user is only responsible for capturing a subset of the events, and because each device simplifies the input requirements of the other event input devices, the end user is still able to enjoy watching the game while also opening up the input task to users who would not have typically done so. The combined results of the devices provides a complete picture of the game in the form of a game play-by-play for the fans and statistics for the coaches. Integration with the scoreboard, communication system and player devices provide further event input simplification, rich content for viewers and simplification for traditional scorekeepers and sound controllers.

An improved One Time Password (iOTP) is used in a two-factor authentication mechanism to decode a username, and the inherent security of the iOTP eliminates the need for a password. When the user is identified by the iOTP, a second challenge is sent. The second challenge may be confirmed by user biometrics or via a PIN code if the user's device does not support biometrics. Benefits of the subject invention include: (1) no username, which eliminates exposure to multiple domain attacks (i.e., attacks on other sites with the same username) that attempt to extract passwords from less secure sites (e.g., where a user used the same username and password across multiple sites); and (2) password-less access—the iOTP replaces both the username and password function, thereby eliminating the need for the user to manage multiple usernames and passwords.

Optimized continuous time linear equalization (CTLE) circuit parameters for a received signal are found using an iterative search process. The received signal is repeatedly sampled by an analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Certain samples containing interference that cannot be cancelled by a CTLE in the sampled series are filtered out (discarded). The remaining samples are used to generate, over a selected evaluation window, a histogram of the sampled values. This histogram is used to calculate a figure of merit for the current CTLE parameter settings. The figures of merit for various CTLE parameter settings are compared to find the set of CTLE parameter settings that optimize the figure of merit and by extension, optimize the CTLE circuitry's performance at equalizing the received signal.

Systems and methods are described for providing secure storage of data sets while enabling efficient deduplication of data. Each data set can be divided into fixed-length blocks. The plaintext of each block can be convergently encrypted, such as by using a hash of the plaintext as an encryption key, to result in block-level ciphertext that can be stored. If two data sets share blocks, the resulting block-level ciphertext can be expected to overlap, and thus duplicative block-level ciphertexts need not be stored. A manifest can be created to facilitate re-creation of the data set, which manifest identifies the block-level ciphertexts of the data set and a key by which each block-level ciphertext was encrypted. By use of block-level encryption, nearly identical data sets can be largely deduplicated, even if they are not perfectly identical.
