Optical fibers used to deliver laser energy inside the body are often twisted and bent when passed through tortuous routes in accessing the target tissue or pathology, e.g. during the ureteroscopic laser lithotripsy. When an irregular laser output that is produced at the start of the lasing process is channeled through a fiber that is bent at or near the bend limit, fail safe polymer claddings are damaged and can no longer contain even regular laser output in tight deflection. A common resulting fiber failure, known as ‘fiber burn through’, results in injuries to patients and is a major cause of damage to ureteroscopes. Discussed are the systems and methodologies providing a solution to such premature fiber failure.

In modern object-oriented programming, programs are written using typed objects like classes and instances that interact with one another via rules of composition, inheritance, encapsulation, message passing, and polymorphism. Some embodiments described herein can include a method for tokenizing such modern objects that maintains their interactive properties on a blockchain. It improves upon, and diverges from, the smart contract model used mainly on account-based blockchains today to create a generally-programmable token system that is native to UTXO-based blockchains, where individually-owned software objects interact with other software objects owned by other individuals. These tokenized objects are called jigs. Jigs, an abstraction like objects, enable applications to build their own digital assets that interact with other jigs from other applications. Jogs enable users to own their data as tokens and use their data independent of any one application's complete control.

A decentralized and/or hybrid decentralized method for secure cryptography key storage referred to as Mutual Dependency Architecture (MDA) includes the steps of encrypting the cryptographic key using an unlock key; encrypting the unlock key using an encryption tool to create an encrypted seed; and storing the encrypted seed; wherein a user must have access to a first storage area in the device and to a second storage area external to the device in order to access the cryptographic key. In one embodiment, the encryption tool is a store key that is stored in unencrypted form in the first storage area, while the encrypted seed is stored in the second storage area. In another embodiment, the encryption tool is a Hardware Security Module (HSM) having an authentication key that is encrypted using a store key and stored in the second storage area, while the encrypted seed and the store key are stored in unencrypted form in the first storage area. The method can be used to build a fully encrypted and permanently secure network and/or internet of devices and/or things, and to exchange messages between devices on the network.

A system, method and apparatus to control memory devices over computer networks. For example, a server system establishes a secure authenticated connection with a client computer system to receive a request having a batch identification that is configured in the server system to identify a batch of multiple memory devices. After determining that the client computer system is eligible to control the multiple memory devices in the batch, the server system transmits to the client computer system a response. The response contains control data for each respective memory device in the batch. The control data is based on at least a cryptographic key stored in the server system in association with the respective memory device. Using the control data the client computer system submits a command with a digital signature to the respective memory device, which validates the digital signature prior to execution of the command.

A system for generating a symmetric key to allow the sharing of information between two entities, wherein the shared information is used to start a server and the symmetric key is established from the private key of a first client and the public key of a second client and for use in a symmetric encryption methodology to encrypt information for transport to the second entity, allowing the second entity to form the same symmetric key to decrypt information with no key transport required.

A method in a User Equipment (UE) of an Evolved Packet System (EPS) establishes a security key (K_eNB) for protecting Radio Resource Control/User Plane (RRC/UP) traffic exchanged with a serving eNodeB. The method comprises sending a Non-Access Stratum (NAS) Service Request to a Mobility Management Entity (MME), the request indicating a NAS uplink sequence number (NAS_U_SEQ). The method further comprises receiving an indication of the NAS_U_SEQ of the NAS Service Request sent to the MME, back from the MME via the eNodeB. The method further comprises deriving the K_eNB from at least the received indication of the NAS_U_SEQ and from a stored Access Security Management Entity-key (K_ASME) shared with said MME.

A computer-implemented access method is provided. The method comprises the steps of: (i) providing a verification data item of a one-way function chain of data items; (ii) submitting, to a blockchain (such as the Bitcoin blockchain), an access blockchain transaction comprising a data item of the chain; (iii) applying the one-way function to the data item to provide an output; (iv) comparing the output of step (iii) to the verification item to provide an outcome; and (v) based on the outcome of step (iv): (a) allocating the output as a further verification data item for verifying a further data item of the chain; and (b) granting access to a resource associated with the data item.

A method which is obtained specifically by output oriented coding, making possible the maximum selection of encryption parameters used for encryption by systems using OpenSSL, however without compromising the integrity of the encryption by autogenerating some Attributes thereby making possible row wise encryption in a database and encoding (if encoding is required) on the database side. The method has to satisfy the conditions/restrictions mentioned herein [0054]. This Invention is related to today's information technology and communicating methodology where encryptions and encodings are being used. The present invention can be described as software that enables a method of encryption acting as an Enhanced security feature or a technique which will enable users to manually or automatically select encryption parameters thereby encrypting and securing data. The primary reason for development of this method is to enable the users to have control over their encryption settings or parameters increasing the privacy and security. The invention method or technique is nothing but making sure that user is in control of encryption attributes, Methods, Techniques depending on the security levels required for encryption rather than a program controlling them, but assisting the User.

In one embodiment, a communication system includes network devices, each comprising a network interface to receive at least one data stream, a given network device being configured to recover a remote clock from the at least one data stream received by the given network device, a frequency synthesizer to generate a clock signal and output the clock signal to each of the network devices, wherein the given network device is configured to find a clock frequency differential between the clock signal and the recovered remote clock, and provide a control signal to the frequency synthesizer responsively to the clock frequency differential, the control signal causes the frequency synthesizer to adjust the clock signal so as to iteratively reduce an absolute value of the clock frequency differential between the clock signal and the recovered remote clock.

An agent is installed on a computing device of a vehicle (e.g., an ECU); the agent receives messages from an application installed on the same computing device. The computing device is connected to a gateway computing device via a physical communication channel (e.g., CAN bus or Ethernet cable). When the gateway agent receives a message from the application, it converts the message into a different protocol based on a mapping of the protocols to physical communication channels. The message is sent to a gateway agent at the gateway device, where it is converted back to the original protocol so the message can be processed/transmitted to the internet. By using an agent, the in-vehicle application does not need to know about the vehicle's network architecture or changes to it in order to access the internet.
