A vehicle acceleration restriction device is provided with the following: an obstacle relative-distance detection unit (32) that detects the relative distance between the ego vehicle and an obstacle; a driving-force control-amount detection unit (34) that detects a driving-force control amount, namely the position of an accelerator pedal (30); a steering control-amount detection unit (36) that detects a steering control amount, namely the position of a steering control element; and a driving-force limitation unit (44) that limits the driving force produced by the ego vehicle to a preset driving-force limit in accordance with the steering control amount detected by the steering control-amount detection unit (36) if the relative distance detected by the obstacle relative-distance detection unit (32) is less than or equal to a preset limiting relative distance and the driving-force control amount detected by the driving-force control-amount detection unit (34) is greater than a preset driving-force control-amount threshold.
