Disclosed is a method for configuring a memory system having an optical interface. The method comprises: acquiring local parameters of access performed by an application to a memory system having an optical interface; determining, according to the local parameters, the access performed by the application to the memory system having the optical interface, and making synchronous response by a first memory device having an optical interface and a second memory device having an optical interface or making response by either of the first memory device having the optical interface and the second memory device having the optical interface; and sending a first configuration message to the first memory device having the optical interface and sending a second configuration message to the second memory device having the optical interface. By means of the configuration method, the memory system having the optical interface can reasonably configure resources of the memory system according to characteristics of access of an application.
