6-Epoxyethyl-3-oxatricyclo[3.2.1.0 2,4 ]octane derivatives and 2,3-epoxy-6-epoxyethyl-1,4;5,8-dimethano-decahydronaphthalene derivatives which are expected to be used as monomers to give plastics having a high transition temperature are easily produced by oxidizing corresponding 6-vinyl compounds with dioxorane.
