Switching means (122) are provided for enabling the image-generating means to access one of the frame stores and for enabling the printing controller to access another frame store. When the image-generating means has generated an image and the printing controller has controlled the printing of an image, the switching means exchanges the memory accessible by the image-generating means and the memory accessible by the printing controller.
