In known metronomes, the rhythm is transmitted to the musician in an acoustic and/or optical manner. This has the disadvantage that especially music students have difficulties keeping to the clock pulse pre-determined by the metronome as they listen to the clock pulse of the metronome or watch the same and play their instrument according to what they see or hear. This, in turn, means that the student follows the clock pulse of the metronome in a temporally shifted manner, often resulting, after time, in a misinterpretation and/or loss of the clock pulse. The aim of the invention, inter alia, is to provide a novel device for providing the clock pulse and rhythm, by which means the cited disadvantages of known metronomes are avoided.
