The invention relates to a device for modulating noise in a motor vehicle which comprises an internal combustion engine (1) having at least two gas-conducting lines (6, 7) linked therewith. The inventive device is characterized in that the at least two gas-conducting lines (6, 7) are interlinked by means of a transfer passage (8). Said transfer passage (8) is formed by a housing (9) that encloses the at least two gas-conducting lines (6, 7) and that comprises at least two compartments (11, 12) that are associated with the at least two gas-conducting lines (6, 7) and substantially enclose them. Any of the gas-conducting lines (6, 7) is linked with the compartment (11, 12) enclosing it via one transfer opening (13, 15) each. The two compartments (11, 12) are interlinked via at least one transfer opening (14).
