Disclosed is a hand-held shower (12) comprising an illumination means (15) that is preferably formed by LEDs and emits light through the spray disk (14) at least when the hand-held shower is operated. The power for said illumination means is supplied by a battery (17) which is located in the handle (11) of the hand-held shower. A charging mechanism is disposed in a stationary receiving device. Said mechanism charges the battery in the hand-held shower when the shower is inserted in the receiving device. A coupling apparatus which is provided with one respective coupling element (7, 20) in the receiving device and in the hand-held shower is used for coupling the charger to the battery. Said coupling apparatus can operate in a contactless manner or with contacts.
