Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of scheduling information for dedicated on-demand system information (SI) corresponding to a specified UE category, wherein the indication is carried in at least one of: a minimum system information (MSI) communication, a radio resource control (RRC) message, a response message of a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure, a random access response (RAR) message of a four-step RACH procedure, a contention resolution message of a four-step RACH procedure, a message type flag indicating the transmission of the dedicated on-demand SI, or a combination thereof; transmit, to the base station, an on-demand SI request based at least in part on the scheduling information and the UE category; and receive one or more on-demand system information blocks.
