Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, embodiments that include receiving video content over a communication network, and determining a point of interest in relation to a presentation of the video content via equipment utilized by a user. Further embodiments can include identifying an object in the video content according to the point of interest, and obtaining information associated with the object. Additional embodiments can include generating first augmented reality content based on the video content and the information associated with the object, and providing the first augmented reality content to a communication device.
