The syringe includes a syringe barrel comprising a polymeric material having undergone expansion by stretch blow molding and by compression molding of an inner diameter of the barrel with a core member. In certain configurations of the syringe barrel, the stretch blow molding is provided through a nozzle of the syringe. Similarly, according to a further embodiment, a syringe for use in pressurized injection of a fluid is provided. The syringe includes a syringe barrel comprising a polymeric material having undergone expansion by stretch blow molding and by shrinking an inner diameter of the syringe barrel about a core member.
