In some aspects, a user equipment may identify a scheduling window associated with acquiring a system information message, wherein the scheduling window is based at least in part on control channel monitoring occasions associated with a control channel, wherein the control channel is to schedule a data channel that includes the system information message; and receive the control channel based at least in part on the scheduling window, wherein the control channel is received within the scheduling window.
