In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a wakeup signal (WUS) associated with a discontinuous reception (DRX) ON duration; determine that a grant was not detected in the DRX ON duration; and perform an action based at least in part on whether the WUS is specific to the UE or is associated with a group of UEs.
