Increased intracranial pressure in warm-blooded animals is reduced by administering to the warm-blooded animals a therapeutically effective amount of a propanol derivative of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl having one to 4 carbon atoms and Ring A is phenyl, halogenophenyl, methylphenyl or trifluoromethylphenyl, or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
