Azolylmethylspiro[2.5]octanols of the formula ##STR1## where A and R are each hydrogen or alkyl;D is alkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, biphenylyl, naphthyl, hetaryl or phenyl, it being possible for each of these radicals to be substituted;Z is CH.sub.2 or O,X is CH or N, and the plant-compatible acid addition salts and metal complexes thereof are used as or in fungicides.
