A compound of the formulaC.sup.0 BwhereinC.sup.0 stands for ##STR1## A representing O or 2H, and R.sub.0 representing SH, NH.sub.2, or C.sub.x H.sub.y --SO.sub.2 --NH--, wherein C.sub.x H.sub.y is a straight chain saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon, with x being between 1 and 20 and y between 3 and 41, inclusive; andB stands for --NHR, where R is an aryl group.The compounds are useful for inhibiting p21ras farnesyltransferase.
