The outer shutter opens one of the inner shutters corresponding to a side of the disc cartridge being accessed by a pickup. Accordingly, the overall area of the apertures exposed to the exterior during information recording and reproducing operations is reduced. Accordingly, dust is less likely to enter into the disc cartridge.
