Abstract:
An optical disc drive to prevent entry of dust through a front side of a tray and includes a housing including a first opening, a shielding member disposed to shield the first opening at a distance from a front side of the housing, and including a second opening, and a tray inserted in the first and the second openings to shield the second opening and loaded into and unloaded from the housing. Thus, since sponge or padding is not dedicatedly used, cost can be saved. In addition, since the manufacturing process is simplified, productivity can be improved.
Abstract:
A disk drive including a tray and an opener. The tray includes a disk cartridge mounted thereon and is loaded into and unloaded from a main body. The opener is installed in the main body and elastically contacts a guide formed on the tray. The opener includes a second gear and a first protrusion. The second gear rotates a rotating wheel when in contact with a first gear. The first protrusion formed on a first end of the second gear temporarily rotates the rotating wheel so that the first and second gears can mesh. The guide has a first cam that moves the opener such that the first protrusion does not interfere with the latch when the tray is loaded/unloaded.
Abstract:
An optical disc drive includes a traverse deck having left and right sides to be balanced. The optical disc drive includes a main deck, a tray, a turntable, an optical pickup, a traverse deck, and a balancer. The optical pickup is mounted movably in the back-and-forth direction to emit light to an optical disc placed on the turntable to read and write information from and to the optical disc. On the traverse deck, the turntable is mounted at the front side of the traverse deck and the optical pickup is mounted movably in the back-and-forth direction. The balancer is mounted on the traverse deck to balance the weights of the left and right sides of the traverse deck.
Abstract:
A disc recording/reproducing apparatus includes a main frame, a disc cartridge including a case with an opening on a bottom thereof to expose a disc-type recording medium and a window on a sidewall thereof, a shutter mounted in the case to expose and cover the opening, a rotary wheel operating in association with the shutter, and a latch unit formed at one side of the case to control rotation of the rotary wheel, a tray mounting the disc cartridge and moving with respect to the main frame, a shutter opening/closing unit connected to one side of the main frame, a rack member of a cantilever type contacting with the rotary wheel, and first and second connection ribs connected to a static part of the shutter opening/closing unit, and a cam guiding the rack member distanced in relation to or from the latch unit, during shutter opening/closing operations.

Abstract:
A disc cartridge includes a case accommodating a disc and having an aperture hole formed on a first surface of the case so that a recording/reproducing apparatus access a recording surface of the disc, and an open hole formed on a second surface to be open to an outside of the case, a shutter opening/shutting the aperture hole and installed in the case, a disc holder installed at a side defining the open hole to move up and down and covering a gap between an outer circumference of the disc and an inner surface of the side defining the open hole when the disc holder descends, and a shutter driving mechanism moving the shutter so that the aperture hole is open/shut. Thus, a passage through which dust is introduced toward an information area of the disc, and a gap formed at an outer circumference are blocked by the disc holder so that a possibility of contamination by dust can be reduced.
Abstract:
A disk drive including a tray on which a disk cartridge is mounted and is loaded into and unloaded from a main body; a guide formed on the tray; and an opening and closing member installed to be elastically connected to the guide. The opening and closing member has a second gear that rotates a rotating wheel by meshing with a first gear; and a first protrusion formed on one end of a second gear and to temporarily rotate the rotating wheel so that the first and second gears can mesh. The guide pushes the first protrusion during loading/unloading of the tray so that the first protrusion and the latch do not come in contact with each other.
Abstract:
A fluid bearing apparatus includes a thrust load supporting portion formed between an external side surface of a fixing shaft and an internal side wall of an opening in a bushing; the surface and wall facing each other. The thrust load supporting portion includes a ball inserting groove formed on the external side surface of the fixing shaft and/or the internal side wall of the bushing and a ball inserted into the ball inserting groove. The upper end portion of the shaft is lower than the upper end portion of the bushing. Since the thrust load is supported by the balls instead of by the upper end portion of the fixing shaft, it is possible to prevent movement of the fixing shaft when the fluid bearing apparatus starts to rotate. The frictional resistance of the upper end portion of the fixing shaft can be reduced when the fluid bearing apparatus starts to rotate and stops its rotation.
Abstract:
A deck mechanism has a tape-guiding unit including a pinch roller, pole bases, a tension lever and an impedance roller. The tape-guiding unit is interlocked with a master cam gear and a main slide member. The deck mechanism is simple and can be accurately controlled.
Abstract:
An optical disk player with improved opening and closing of a door, transport of a tray, and an improved pivoting structure of a chassis to pivot a turntable. The optical disk player includes: a body; a tray to move in and out of the body so as to transport an optical disk; a chassis installed to pivot inside the body; an optical pickup, which is installed to be able to move back and forth in the chassis, to record/reproduce information onto/from the optical disk that is rotatably placed on the turntable; a cover installed on a front of the body, the cover including: a door holder with an aperture through which the tray moves; a door to be able to slide along the door holder so as to open and close the aperture; and a cam driving device to activate the tray, to pivot the chassis, and to open and close the door by sliding.
