The unbalanced disc determining apparatus includes a noise reduction unit configured to reduce noise components of a center error signal obtained from a signal configured to detect light reflected by a disc revolved by a spindle motor, and a determination unit configured to determine whether the revolving disc is unbalanced by determining whether the center error signal of which noise is reduced exceeds a reference value.
