Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving, over a multicast-broadcast single-frequency network channel of a cellular network, a second advertisement provided by an advertisement server; providing the second advertisement to a media processor to cause the media processor to replace a first advertisement with the second advertisement during presentation of media content received by the media processor over a first network, where the second advertisement is selected from a group of advertisements according to user data of a user of the media processor.
