A process for the continuous manufacture of a composite of a plurality of discrete solid dispersates within a matrix material includes introducing a fluid precursor of the matrix material (205) and dispersates (206) under pressure into a vessel (201) through matrix and dispersate material entrance regions (202, 203); infiltrating the dispersate material with the fluid matrix material to provide a concentrated dispersion; dispersing the concentrated dispersion into the fluid matrix material to provide the composite (210); and casting the composite through a composite exit region (204) of the vessel.
