Abstract:
Disclosed are a RAN-based paging mechanism and optimizations of how UE context information is to be retrieved from an anchor (i.e., old eNB) to support the RAN-based paging mechanism. An X2AP-based, RAN-originated paging mechanism for paging eNBs and cells within a given area is described. DRX enhancements and resolution of mismatching states are also described.
