Abstract:
It is provided a method, comprising monitoring if an information on an update of a system information of a first cell is received; checking if a terminal is registered as being served by at least one cell of a group of one or more cells comprising the first cell; checking if the terminal becomes reachable after being asleep; requesting to page the terminal by a paging message if the information on the update is received, the terminal is served by the at least one cell of the group, and the terminal becomes reachable, wherein the paging message comprises an indication on the update.
Abstract:
A method and arrangement in a data collection network node (130, 140) for gathering information to be used for identification of at least one primary tracking area associated with a user equipment and a method and arrangement in a core network node (101) for selecting at least one tracking area identity identifying at least one tracking area to be used as at least one primary tracking area for a UE are provided. A tracking area identity is retrieved. Information about usage of a tracking area identified by the retrieved tracking area identity is registered. A measure for the user equipment being located in the tracking area is determined. Said at least one tracking area identity identifying at least one tracking area to be used as a primary tracking area is determined, if the measure exceeds a threshold. A method and an arrangement in a second network node (130) for paging a user equipment are provided. When paging the user equipment (140), the second network node first pages the user equipment (140) in the primary tracking area and, if the first page fails, then pages the user equipment (140) in other tracking areas.
Abstract:
In a mobile communication network including at least one mobile switching center and at least one mobile station, a method and system are provided for paging a mobile station. A list of cell-identifying information representing possible locations of the mobile station is established by making contact between the mobile switching center and the mobile station, determining a cell in which the mobile station is located, and adding information identifying the cell in which the mobile station is located to the list. The mobile station is selectively paged within each of the cells identified by information in the list until a response is received.
Abstract:
A method for tracking a location of a User Equipment (UE) connected to a network is provided. When the UE is in an IDLE state, and a mobility management entity of the network receives a notification message that downlink data is available for the UE, the mobility management entity may transmit paging instructions to access points in a paging area. The paging area may be defined as one or more access points within one or more tracking areas. The tracking areas may be defined as a one or more access points from which the UE can access the network. The paging areas may further be defined by a mobility pattern of the UE that tracks location and mobility behaviour of the UE.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method for paging coverage extension UEs in a cell controlled by a radio base station. At least one regularly-occurring coverage-extension-specific paging possibility (CE-specific paging possibility), is defined for paging CE UEs. The CE-UEs in the cell regularly monitor the at least one CE-specific paging possibility. When the radio base station determines to page all the user equipments in the cell, it pages the CE user equipments in the cell at the CE-specific paging possibility, using a coverage extension technique. The present disclosure also relates to a method for paging a CE UE, which performs radio measurements by the CE-capable user equipment to determine whether coverage extension is necessary. The radio base station is informed about whether the CE-capable user equipment needs coverage extension or not and then pages the CE UEs applying or not applying a CE technique depending on whether coverage extension is necessary or not.
Abstract:
A disclosed phonecasting system and method involves receiving a telephone call from a caller via a telephone number, and providing an audio signal in response. An audio file including audio content corresponding to the telephone number is played, thereby producing the audio signal. A message is selectively sent to the caller while the audio signal is being provided to the caller. The audio file may include, for example, a podcast publicly available via the Internet. The audio file may also include an audio advertisement or public service message. The message may be, for example, a text message or an electronic mail (email) message. Alternatively, or in addition, the message may be or include one or more images (e.g., pictures, drawings, diagrams, and the like).
Abstract:
The method pages (fig 2) a wireless terminal in a wireless telecommunications system and transmits a quick page message via a less encoded channel and generates a full page message via a more encoded channel. The quick page massege contains less information than the full page message. The quick page message is for notifying the wireless terminal to begin processing for the full page message, and comprises a single bit of data. The full page message is transmitted during a second time slot assigned to the wireless terminal that occurs after the first time slot.
