MICROCAPSULES ENCAPSULATING HYDROPHOBIC MATERIALS
Abstract:
Microcapsules comprising a core material and a wall that encloses the core material, are provided, wherein the core material comprises a hydrophobic material and the walls comprise an aminoplast polymer. The microcapsules have an average diameter between 25 and 60 μm and comprise at least 85% by weight of core material. The microcapsules may advantageously break under low activation pressures and may advantageously encapsulate high loadings of reactive materials. Methods of making the microcapsules and compositions comprising the microcapsules and a matrix are also described.
