摘要:
The present disclosure relates to an outdoor telecommunications cabinet (10) as well as to a method of installation of the cabinet (10) for connecting an external communication network (300) to a user network (400). The cabinet is made of a single piece case (13) comprising: - a first area (100) associated with a first closure door (11), housing: • a plurality of optic adapters (110) having opposite first (113) and second sides; • a corresponding plurality of connecting optical fibres (120) for connection to optical fibres of the user network (400), the connecting optical fibres (120) having opposite free ends and terminated ends, terminated with respective optical fibre connectors (121) that are respectively engaged with the first sides (113) of the adapters (110), • a corresponding plurality of optical fibre patch cords (130) having opposite first and second (132) ends terminated with respective optical fibre connectors (131), the optical fibre connectors terminating the first ends being respectively engaged with the second sides of the adapters (110); and
- a second area (200) associated with a second closure door (12), housing: • a connector holder (210) having a plurality of seats (211) adapted to temporaly hold the optical fibre connectors (131) terminating the second ends (132) of the patch cords (130), • a space (220) adapted to house, after installation on site of the cabinet (10), fibre optic cabling and accessories for connection to the external communication network (300), • the connector holder (210) acting as a temporary parking area for the optical fibre connectors (131) terminating the second ends (132) of the patch cords (130), waiting to be connected to said optical fibre cabling and/or accessories for connection to the external communication network (300).

A microbundle optical cable such as, a riser cable, includes an outer jacket and a plurality of microbundles housed in the outer jacket. At least one of the microbundles includes an optical fiber ribbon enclosed in a microbundle coating. The at least one microbundle includes a longitudinal axis and a cross-section taken on a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The cross-section may include a first dimension and a second dimension. The first dimension is higher than the second dimension. Therefore, the cross-section shape is an elongated cross shape.
摘要:
A method for connecting user devices (130) to optical fiber units (210) contained in an optical cable (110), the method comprising the phases of: providing an opening (330) in a sheath (205) of the optical cable to access the optical fiber units contained in the optical cable; extracting a segment of at least one optical fiber unit from the optical cable through the opening; inserting a free end of the extracted segment of optical fiber unit into a protection tube (335); making the protection tube slide on the extracted segment of optical fiber unit to insert an end portion (350) of the protection tube, distal from the free end of the extract segment of the optical fiber unit, into the optical cable through said opening; positioning a closure element (405) on the optical cable in correspondence of the opening so as to substantially realize a closure thereof; securing in removable way the closure element (425) to the optical cable and bringing the free end of the extracted segment of optical fiber unit in correspondence of a connection point of a user device.
