The invention relates to a spark plug (1) for the internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, said spark plug being embodied with a generally essentially long shape and comprising: an essentially capacitive lower part (C) provided with two coaxial electrodes, one of said electrodes being a central electrode (3), and a threaded shell (2) for screwing in the plug (1) on the engine; an essentially inductive upper part (I) comprising a central winding (5) provided with a plurality of coils (51) which are wound round a coaxial mandrel (8), an envelope (6), and an insulator (7) which is inserted between the envelope (6) and the winding (5). The essentially capacitive part (C) and the essentially inductive part (I) are mechanically interconnected in such a way as to enable the transmission of a clamping couple applied to the envelope (6) to the essentially capacitive lower part (C). The invention is characterised in that the mandrel (8) can be elastically deformed in such a way as to compensate the effects of the dilation of the insulator (7).
