The method includes formation of a recess (45) outside the hole covering area by removing a portion of the cover film (31), mounting a seal film (51) on the cover film in such a manner that the seal film (50) covers the bore (49), and sealing the bore (49) with the seal film (50) by heating the seal film (50) with the seal film (50) mounted on the cover film (31) and thereby melting a side of the seal film (50) opposed to the cover film (31).

When an ink cartridge is installed in a normal direction, the projection of a holder is first fitted into a recessed part of a cartridge in a process of push down, succeeding push down is enabled and an ink supply port is fitted to an ink supply needle (10,11), however, if an ink cartridge is installed in an improper state, the bottom hits on the projection formed so that it is wide and push down is interrupted. Hereby, the ink supply needle can be prevented from being damaged due to the installation in an improper direction of the ink cartridge.
