The present invention relates to a method in a legacy access node for selecting a suitable RAN, of a plurality of RANs for a LTE UE, capable of both PS and CS sessions in a global communication network, The method comprises the steps of connecting the UE to a legacy RAN via a radio interface module and then establishing a PS session with the connected UE. The bandwidth that the UE currently is consuming is monitored and compared with a predefined bandwidth threshold. If the consumed bandwidth exceeds the predefined bandwidth threshold an attempt will he made to trigger transferring of the UE from the current legacy RAN to the LTE RAN. The present invention also relates to a corresponding method in a eNodeB where the attempt to trigger transferring of the UE from the LTE RAN to the legacy RAN is made if the consumed bandwidth falls below the predefined threshold. The invention further relates to a legacy access node and an eNodeB adapted and configured to perform the methods.

A Mobile Switching Centre, MSC, an Access Transfer Control Function, ATCF, an Access Transfer Gateway, ATGW and respective methods therein are provided for performing a packet-switched, PS, to circuit-switched, CS, handover of a User Equipment, UE, are provided. When the UE is handed over from a PS communication network to a CS communication network, the MSC requests the ATCF controlling the ATGW to bi-casting to both the CS communication network and the PS communication network, and forwarding speech data from the UE to a remote terminal with which the UE is communicating during the PS to CS handover procedure. Once the UE is handed over, the bi-casting and the forwarding are terminated.

The measurement report is received from the UE (110). The measurement configuration message can be communicated as an explicit indication to the UE (110) to proceed with performing the measurement defined by the measurement configuration message. The measurement configuration message can define a reporting criteria that triggers the UE (110) to communicate the measurement report when the reporting criteria is fulfilled. The reporting criteria may be a threshold value that the UE (110) compares to the measurement to determine whether to communicate the measurement report. Related methods of operating a UE (110) and corresponding network node (130) and UE (110) apparatuses are disclosed.

A procedure is disclosed where a user equipment (UE) 10 can share information (with e.g. radio access network (RAN) nodes 20, 30) about its cell mobility attempts (e.g. redirection successes/failures). This information can subsequently be utilized by the various RAN nodes 20, 30 when making subsequent, i.e. future, cell mobility decisions. Hereby it is made possible to improve cell mobility decisions, such as redirection or handover, by the various RAN nodes 20, 30.
