A reversible thermal-recording composite capable of exerting great performance for repeated use and yielding good printing quality at higher coloring concentrations is provided, wherein the coloring and fading reaction of a leuco dye with a coloring and fading agent is utilized and a specific coloring and fading agent, a specific inorganic filler and a specific amine compound and the like are used in the thermal-recording layer, and a thermal-recording sheet and a thermal-recording card using the same are also provided. The thermal-recording sheet comprises the thermal-recording composite and comprises at least (1) a substrate, (2) a reversible thermal-recording layer and (3) a protective layer, wherein the thermal-recording layer contains a reversible coloring dye, a coloring and fading agent, an inorganic filler and an amine compound in an organic polymeric binder and the coloring and fading agent is an amide compound produced by dehydration condensation of an aliphatic carboxylic acid with a phenolic hydroxyl group and an aliphatic alkylamine. A reversible thermal-recording composite with a higher coloring concentration, greater long-term stability of image, excellent printing quality and good durability for repetition, can be realized, together with a thermal-recording sheet or card using the same.

Heat-sensitive material includes also a heat-fusible compound; sheets sensitive to light, pressure and electric heating are also described. The composition(s) with a binder are coated on a support, e.g. of paper. After image-forming, a blue image which is fast to sunlight is obtained.

Provided is a thermal recording material comprising an intermediate layer and a heat-sensitive recording layer for color formation by heat stacked in this order onto a support, the thermal recording material being characterized in that the intermediate layer contains a bellows-shaped hollow resin and that the roughness of the surface on the color forming side is 1.0 µm or less as measured by Parker Print Surf. The method for producing such a thermal recording material comprises the steps of: applying a coating liquid containing heat-expandable resin particles to a support, drying the coated support at a temperature lower than the expansion starting temperature of the heat-expandable resin particle, and subjecting the coated support to thermoforming for formation of an intermediate layer; and applying, to the intermediate layer, heat-sensitive recording-related components which contribute to color formation by heat, for formation of a heat-sensitive recording layer.
