The present invention relates to a process and a device for producing designs on stockings in twin-cylinder circular knitting machines. In the process according to the invention, a first thread (8) differing in color with respect to a second thread which constitutes the stocking is fed by a thread guide (2) alternatively to the second thread to a preset number of needles during the formation of a row of stitches. The first thread, which constitutes the design, is cut proximate to the ends of the portion of the row knit by the preset number of needles and the ends of the thread (2) are moved towards the inside of the needle cylinders (3) by means of a flow of air.

A synthetic, anti-wear, anti-magnetic material (20) is moulded at least on the reciprocally facing portions of the cited ledge (12,13) and the nucleus (7,8) of the electromagnet (4,5).

The present invention relates to a twin-cylinder circular knitting machine with a perfected device for actuating the transfer sinkers, comprising a plurality of selectors (9) which are slideably accommodated in the grooves of the lower needle-bearing cylinder and act each with its upper end on a transfer sinker (2), or slider, for moving the matching needle. The machine according to the invention has the peculiarity that in a same groove of the lower needle-bearing cylinder is accommodated proximate to the upper end of the selector (9), a pusher element (8), controllably engageable with the lower end of the matching transfer sinker (2). The pusher element (8) has the possibility of being operated independently from the selector (9) accommodated in the same groove, since it is provided with a heel (8a) which is engageable in suitably defined tracks (14, 15) on the skirt of the cams of the lower needle-bearing cylinder.
