At least selected knitting stations (6) are assigned drawing frames (8) for producing threads (11) which are formed from the fibrous materials (10). According to the invention, the drawing frames (8) lie in the reaching area of an operator (5) working on the machine (1) and can be opened downwards (arrow v) or to the side.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a circular type knitting machine for intarsia, which can stably knit a rib part of an object while firmly holding knitting yarns cut from the object. The circular type knitting machine includes a knitting needle cylinder (200) which is provided inside a plurality of cam support covers (251), a plurality of knitting yarn separating devices (400) which is circumferentially arranged on an annular support plate (130), and a cam mechanism including various kinds of cams and provided on the plurality of cam support covers (251). The circular type flat knitting machine further includes a knitting yarn gathering device (500) to gather a plurality of knitting yarns and to supply the plurality of knitting yarns to a center of the knitting needle cylinder (200). Thus, the knitting yarns, which have been separated for knitting a rib part of an object, are rearranged into a state for intarsia knitting. The circular type knitting machine further includes a rib knitting needle plate coupling unit (600) which moves a rib knitting needle plate (302) downwards to be selectively coupled to the knitting needle cylinder (200), and thereafter, rotates the rib knitting needle plate (302) relative to the knitting needle cylinder (200) around the center of the knitting needle cylinder within a predetermined angular range.

The device (5) comprises a half-dial (6) which is provided with take up elements (26) for taking up the threads or loops and the takeup elements (26) can move on command along radial directions with respect to the half-dial (6) in order to take up and retain or release the threads or loops. The half-dial (6) can be turned over about a diametrical axis (7) of the needle cylinder (2) in order to face, by way of the takeup elements (26), the needles (4) of one half of the needle cylinder (2) or the needles (4) of the other half of the needle cylinder (2). The half-dial (6) is accommodated inside the needle cylinder (2).
Abstract:
The circular knitting machine includes a rotatable support shaft (20) supported at its upper end on a frame support member (27). The support shaft (20) extends downward to a position adjacent the circular opening in the upper end of the needle cylinder (6). It has diametrically stepped small and large lower end portions. The needle dial (17) is supported adjacent the opening in the upper end of the needle cylinder (6) and has a shaft engaging upper surface and upper dial cam holder engaging surface lying substantially flush with each other. A needle dial orifice is dimensioned substantially equal to the small stepped portion of the support shaft (20) for receiving this stepped portion therethrough to aid in positioning of the needle dial thereat. A vertically extending support sleeve (19b,27a) surrounds the support shaft (20) and is supported at the upper end on the frame support member (27) for telescopic vertical movement relative to the support shaft (20). The lower end of the support sleeve (19b) is fixed to the dial (17) for supporting same. A dial control, including gears (26,29), is provided for lifting and lowering the support sleeve (19b) along the support shaft (20) to lift the dial (17) a sufficient distance to permit removal and replacement of the needle cylinder (6).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a knitting machine or the like with a device for raising and lowering the platen, which comprises a frame (1), associated with the supporting structure (4) of the machine, which supports the platen (2) above the needle-bearing cylinder (3). The machine also comprises at least one guiding column (5) for sliding said frame (1) with respect to the supporting structure (4) of the machine along a direction parallel to the axis of the needle-bearing cylinder (3) and a step motor (6) which is connected to an electronic member (7) for controlling the machine and which acts on moving means (8) connected to said frame (1) and to the supporting structure (4) to perform the above described sliding according to a preset program.
Abstract:
A racking mechanism for a control drum of a circular knitting machine employs at lease some selectors (60, 98, 106) movable over a limited distance with respect to the rackwheel (but otherwise revolving bodily therewith) between a selecting and non-selecting position. A selector control means (62) can be operated from an actuating means (13, 14) to move such selectors (60, 98, 106) to a non-selecting position to release an associated pawl (26, 28) ready for action by means of cams (16) a set time after arrival of a stud (8) under a stud follower (10).
Abstract:
For controlling selection of needles, intermediate jacks or pattern jacks in a circular knitting machine there is provided a stepwise advanced pattern drum (5) selectively acting on selection slides (3) which interfere with butts of needles, intermediate jacks or pattern jacks. The drum (5) is advanced by a pawl (10) pivoted to a rocking lever (11) controlled by a cam (12) the axis whereof is different from the axis of the needle cylinder (1). The cam (12) is rotated at a speed timed to that of the needle cylinder (1). The cam (12) has two different profiles (12a, 12b) at different heights for acting on said lever (11) and may be provided with additional superposed profiles (21) for action on the selection slides (3) through respective three-arm levers (8).
Abstract:
