    摘要: A burner port block assembly having a refractory block with a central passageway therethrough and a ceramic extension piece disposed at least partially in the central passageway of the refractory block. The extension piece has a distal end, a proximal end, and a sidewall that defines a central passageway extending between the distal end and the proximal end. The central passageway of the refractory block is provided with a first engagement structure and the sidewall of the extension piece is provided with a second engagement structure. Engagement of the first engagement structure with the second engagement structure connects the extension piece to the refractory block. The burner port block assembly may further include at least one ceramic fiber board having a hole therethrough disposed at the distal end of the refractory block and/or a gasket positioned between the refractory block and the extension piece.

    摘要: According to the present disclosure, a flat-flame nozzle is provided for producing a flat flame in a flame chamber included in a burner assembly. The flat-flame nozzle is configured to conduct fuel from a fuel supply to an ignition zone in the flame chamber. In some illustrative embodiments, the flat-flame nozzle is also configured to conduct oxygen from an oxygen supply to the ignition zone to produce a combustible oxygen-fuel mixture in the flame chamber. In illustrative embodiments, a removable first plate-separation border frame is positioned to lie between a first lower plate and a companion first upper plate. This border frame is configured to cooperate with those plates to form in the flat-flame nozzle a fuel-discharge outlet and a fuel-transport passageway communicating with the fuel-discharge outlet.

    摘要: Forehearth constructions are described in which means are provided to heat the sides of the stream of molten glass (27) passing along the forehearth from a glass-making furnace to one or more molten glass outlets by way of flames emerging from a series of substantially horizontal slots. The slots are located in the side walls of the channel above the level of the molten glass surface when the forehearth is operating, and the ribbon of flame provides improved heat transfer to the molten glass stream. Burner blocks are disclosed for use in constructing a forehearth of this type, each consisting of a block of refractory material having an internal cavity (3) of generally wedge-shaped construction and having an elongated outlet in. the form of a slot (4) in the face of the block. A combustible gaseous mixture, or the components to form a combustible gaseous mixture, are fed into the cavity remote from the slot.
