    摘要: Using a plurality of terminal service profiles (TSP) that are selected on the basis of the switching system to which a wireless mobile unit is registered. Each TSP defines the operation of features associated with the wireless mobile unit, and a service profile defines features associated with a directory number shared by a stationary station set and the wireless mobile unit. This allows some features to be associated only with the wireless mobile unit and other features to be associated with the shared directory number. These other features are usable by the wireless mobile unit and any other unit sharing the shared directory number. These other features are performed on a permanent switching system to which the shared directory number is assigned. When the wireless mobile unit is not associated with a stationary telephone station set, different TSPs are selected based on the particular switching system to which the wireless mobile unit is registered. ISDN messages are used to provide those features which should appear to be performed on a permanent switching system as if the wireless mobile unit was registered on the permanent switching system.

    摘要: A telecommunications domain (20) having subscriber number relocateablity includes a plurality of physical nodes or exchanges (22) between which calls are connected and a subscriber location server (30) which is connected to and accessed by each of the plurality of exchanges (22) in the domain (20). Each exchange (22) has a unique exchange identifier (ID). Generally, when a call is placed to a subscriber in the relocateability domain, a first exchange the call encounters in the domain queries the subscriber location server. When queried, the subscriber location server (30) returns a Network Routing Number (NRN) which includes a Network Routing Prefix (NRP). The Network Routing Prefix (NRP) is a node identifier (NI) for the local exchange to which the called party is connected. The exchange (22) to which the NRN is returned prepares a routing message for the call by including the Network Routing Prefix (NRP) in an Address Signal Field (ASF) of a routing message and by setting a number relocateability flag (NRF) in the routing message. Using the NRP of the routing message, the call is routed to the called party exchange (i.e., the terminating exchange). In the called party exchange, the exchange identifier is recognized as its 'own' and thereafter the rest of the Address Signal Field (ASF) is analyzed to identify the called subscriber line.

    摘要: A system for detecting interaction between different services on a telecommunications network includes a computer expert system. A data store in the expert system is programmed with data which represent attributes of service features. A rule store is programmed with rules which relate feature attributes to interaction behaviours. An inference engine is connected to the data store and to the rule store and processes the data and the rules to detect any interaction between the services. The data in the data store may be arranged as sets of objects, each object in a set corresponding to a different state transition of the corresponding feature. The different objects may be given sequence numbers corresponding to the time sequence of execution of the feature. At least some of the rules may relate to these sequence numbers.

    摘要: A method for automated service provisioning for telecommunications companies. A caller establishes a connection with the company and requests one or more service changes. The caller's voice or DTMF tone information is converted into data compatible with the processors of the automated method. The caller's data is then validated to determine whether the caller is an existing customer entitled to the requested service. Upon proper validation, a service order is automatically generated, and the service order is processed. In some embodiments, a log feature logs the caller's telephone number to enable a subsequent dial back confirming that the order has been executed.
