Abstract:
Implementations of the present disclosure involve an apparatus and/or method for a regional independent tandem switch of a telecommunications network. The tandem switch processes communications between a long distance carrier and a local exchange carrier through a voice over IP (VOIP) network. By utilizing the VOIP network, the regionally independent tandem may process long distance communications to and from any point in the network, regardless of the physical proximity of the tandem to the originating/destination communication device. The regionally independent nature of the tandem also allows for flexibility in communication routing through the network, load balancing between the network tandem switches and reduction of needed components of the network for proper processing of the long distance communications.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and an apparatus for establishing a trail in a network, where the method includes: in a process of establishing a first trail, adding, by a first ingress node to a first trail establishment response message when forwarding the first trail establishment response message, an IP address of the first ingress node and an optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs; and in a process of establishing a second trail, receiving, by the first ingress node, a first trail request message sent by a second ingress node in the optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs; and sending, by the first ingress node to the second ingress node in the optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs, information about a trail that is of the first trail and is in the optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs, so that the second ingress node determines, according to the information about the trail, a trail that is of the second trail and is in the optical domain to which the first ingress node belongs, where the second trail and the first trail do not overlap. According to the embodiments of the present invention, that a trail that is of a working trail and is in each optical domain and a trail that is of a protection trail and is in each optical domain do not overlap can be met, and meanwhile inter-domain leakage of information in the optical domain can be prevented, thereby improving access security of the optical domain.

Abstract:
Routing calls includes receiving a call request at a call manager from a first endpoint. The call request includes a uniform resource identifier that associates with a second endpoint. A determination is made whether the call request associates with the call manager that received the call request. To route the call request, the call manager searches a call search space for a match to the call request. The call manager communicates the call request to the routing target.
Abstract:
The data affecting selection of routing is retrieved from operator server using a service network when a connection setup request is received, and the retrieved data is forwarded to first terminal. A desired route is selected based on the retrieved data, and the first terminal is connected to the second terminal along selected route by service network based on instructions from the first terminal. An independent claim is also included for telecommunication arrangement.
Abstract:
A method for shifting an original call established between a first user device (1) and at least a correspondent device (2) through a first application server (3) in order to route it through a second application server (4), the method comprising - receiving a server shift instruction; - instructing the first application server (1) to forward the original call through the second application server (4) to the first user device (1) upon receiving the application server shift instruction; - determining that an incoming call routed from the second application server (4) to the first user device (1) has an identification information matches identification information of the original call; - causing the first user device (1) to pick-up the incoming call routed from the second application server (4) to the first user device (1) upon determining that the identification information matches.
