On actualise le passage d'un élément mobile (MT) vers la zone de radiodiffusion (FBn) d'un autre poste fixe (FSn) grâce aux fonctions ''déviation d'appel'' et ''suivi de déviation d'appel'' que comporte l'installation de communication à postes secondaires (PABX). Dans cette gestion active des abonnés par l'installation de communication à postes secondaires (PABX), l'échange des identifications individuelles des éléments mobiles (MT) avec les postes fixes (FSn) correspondants se produit même lorsqu'il n'y a pas de communication en cours. A method and arrangement of locating cordless units in a wide area cordless telephone system is disclosed. A service area is previously divided into a plurality of small service zones and, a plurality of cordless units are provided for establishing communications with a system controller via a plurality of access stations. The system controller locates the cordless units and stores therein location data thereof. Each of the cordless units also stores the location data thereof applied from the system controller. A cordless unit issues a request signal by which a cordless unit location is performed. The request signal is received at an access station which in turn checks to determine if the request signal applied thereto is issued from a cordless unit whose location data indicates a service zone belonging to a predetermined service zone group. In the event that the cordless unit location data applied to the access station is found to fall within the predetermined service zone group, the access station relays the request signal applied thereto, together with a signal level of the request signal, to the system controller.

The telecommunications system comprises a plurality of distributed base stations (BS1..BSn) each operatively coupled to a public switched telecommunications network (PSTN) and being adapted to co-operate with one or more of a plurality of portable cordless telephone units (CT1..CT4) by way of a plurality of cordless digital communication channels operating on a time division duplex basis. The base unit (BS1..BSn) is arranged upon detection of an incoming public switched network call, to poll all the portable cordless telephone units (CT1..CT4) by transmitting on a repetitious basis the identity of the portable units to be connected to the incoming call on a selected channel and the base unit (BS1..BSN) is arranged to intersperse each poll operation with a signalling message. Each portable unit (CT1..CT4) is arranged to scan the cordless channels at a predetermined interval and the base unit (BS1..BSn) is adapted to postpone the sending of a ringing message to any of the portable units (CT1..CT4) until a predetermined period has elapsed since the commencement of the polling action, the predetermined period being substantially similar to but larger than the predetermined interval.

A wireless PBX or LAN system is disclosed that allows multiple, simultaneous users per channel for communication between a base station (20) and a plurality of remote terminals (10,12,14...16) by a combination of adaptive signal processing arrays using optimum combining at the base station for interference suppression and separation of desired signals, adaptive power control at the remote terminals to keep interference at acceptable levels, and adaptive retransmission with time division in the direction from the base station to the remote terminals for communication therebetween including sending power control information to the remote terminals. The adaptive signal processing arrays have a plurality of antennas (110) at the base station, permitting a plurality of users in any one channel. If after adaptation a user's signal cannot be received adequately, the user is dynamically reassigned to a different channel. Interference is minimized by keeping the signals transmitted from and received at the base station at the same power level. The received signals are kept at the same power level by extracting information about the power level of the signals received at the base station and by sending power control bits back to the corresponding remote terminal so that the signal level from the remote terminal may be adjusted either up or down until the power level of each of the signals received at the base station is at the same level. The transmitted signls are kept at the same power level by adaptive retransmission with time division.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Vermittlungssystem mit Personensuchfunktion mit einem Netz von Sprechstellen und einem über Draht mit den Sprechstellen verbundenen, an Steuereinrichtungen angeschlossenen Leitungsnetz. Erfindungsgemäß sind auf eine individuelle Kennung reagierende, drahtlose Teilnehmergeräte (A, B ...Z) vorgesehen mit einem selektiv abgestimmten Funk-/Empfangsteil und mit elektromagnetischen, optischen oder akustischen Sende-/Empfangseinrichtungen. Diese treten mit entsprechenden Sende-/Empfangseinrichtungen in den anonymen (nummernlosen) Sprechstellen (SP), die sternförmig über das Leitungsnetz an ein Koppelnetz (K) mit Steuereinrichtungen (Steuerzentrale) (SZ) angeschlossen sind, in Funk-, optische oder akustische Verbindung. Bei einem von der Steuerzentrale veranlaßten Suchruf eines rufenden Teilnehmers wird eine automatische Rückmeldung des gerufenen Teilnehmers von der ihm nächstgelegenen Sprechstelle (SP) an die Steuerzentrale (SZ) veranlaßt. Die Steuerzentrale (SZ) bewirkt dann einen Verbindungsaufbau vom gerufenen Teilnehmer zu einem vom rufenden Teilnehmer vorgewählten Verbindungspunkt (X) im Koppelnetz (K).
