A continuous treating process for a rubber modified styrenic polymer composition produced by bulk or solution polymerization and containing at least 1% by weight of a rubber component and at least 16% by weight of the total amount of an unreacted monomer and solvent is provided. The polymer composition is treated in a two stage volatile component separation apparatus each stage comprising a multi-tube preheater (4, 14) and a volatilizer (5,15) to remove the unreacted monomer and other volatile components (via lines 20, 25); in the first stage volatilizer (4, 5) the composition treated therein contains 3 - 15% by weight of the unreacted monomer and solvent, and in the second stage volatilizer (14, 15) voltaile components are further stripped from the composition reducing their contents to negligible levels.

A supply package for wet-impregnated multifilament roving is provided in which the multifilament roving is impregnated with a curable liquid having a tack less than about 6 (measured on a Thwing-Albert inkometer) in an amount at least sufficient to fill the spaces between the filaments in the roving, but not in excess of about a 3:2 ratio of curable liquid to fiber, by volume. This impregnated roving is way wound onto a cylinder to provide a crossing angle between the rovings in adjacent layers of at least about 10 to provide free volume storage capacity between the angled rovings which accepts any liquid which may run off. In this manner the wet-impregnated roving can be stored wet in the way wound cylinder and easily withdrawn therefrom when needed.

A method and an apparatus are disclosed for analyzing an absorption filtering medium that filters volatile organic substances in a process gas in a dehumidification plant for dehumidifying polymer granules, with a fan that generates a flow of gas through the filtering medium, an analyzer for analyzing the concentration of total organic carbon, a sensor for detecting pressure downstream of the filtering medium, in which the state of saturation and/or the absorbent capacity and/or the deterioration over time of the filtering medium is determined by a comparison of the measured concentrations of the total organic carbon in the flow of gas upstream and downstream of the filtering medium.
