The present invention provides a control system for controlling a personal transport system comprising a plurality of tubes forming a tube network, at least one self-powered tube car adapted to run in the tubes, at least one station and at least one converging joint of two lines where two tubes are merged into a single tube, wherein: the control system comprises a plurality of computers provided in each station, each converging joint of two lines and each tube car, wherein each computer has its own IP address and communicates with other computers via internet; each computer in each station is used for collecting and controlling information about required and stored empty tube cars to balance them, and controlling entry/departure operations of tube cars; each computer at a converging joint of two lines is used for collecting and managing information related to tube cars running in the related tubes, and monitoring and controlling the speeds of tube cars within its management scope to avoid collision of tube cars; and each computer in each tube car is used for collecting and managing information related to the tube car running as well as controlling the running of the tube car. Moreover, a personal transport system comprising such a control system is provided. Further, the invention provides a control method for controlling a personal transport system comprising a plurality of tubes forming a tube network.
