In an image fetching part (3), the image data of the photographed character image is fetched. In a layout analyzing part (5), the fetched image data of the character image and cursor position information from a cursor control part (4) corresponding to the character image are received. The image data is collated with the cursor position information to analyze the arrangement of the lines or characters of the character string as the object to be recognized. Then, in a character cutting part (6), the character is cut on the basis of the analyzed result. The character is recognized relative to the character image by a character recognizing part (7) to convert the image data to character data.

If the call is to a foreign country, an international prefix according to the identified location is identified. Furthermore, a country code is set to correspond to the originator's country, or it is identified from the inputted counterpart' s telephone number and the like. Conversion into an international telephone number is performed using the country code, and then a call is originated. When the call is originated to the originator's country, the domestic telephone number is used for origination without being converted. A converted number is displayed on an operation screen so that the originator may confirm whether it is appropriate or not.

摘要： In a communications network that provides services to a plurality of users, events occurring during service processing are accumulated in an event record and sent to a record processor to perform post-processing, such as assessing charges to be billed to users of the network. Each service processing node in the communications network accumulates event records, bundles them with instructions as to how they are to be processed, and dispatches them to one or more record processors (408). Before being sent to a record processor, an event record is augmented with instructions describing how to perform processing upon the events in the event record. The record processors (408) are general-purpose processors and the instructions for post-processing are carried within the event records themselves. Post-processors are no longer required to be dedicated to a particular purpose such as billing computation. Furthermore, deployment of post-processing function is more timely and can be integrated with deployment of service processing functions to network service processors (410).
