Abstract:
The invention refers to a method of correlating a plurality of service instances by a service composition entity, wherein the services are performed by one or a plurality of servers of a telecommunications network. Thereto, the service composition entity performs the steps of invoking a composite service instance corresponding to the service request, and generating a composite service identifier identifying this composite service instance, contacting the one or a plurality of application servers for invoking the plurality of component service instances, wherein the plurality of component service instances are associated to the composite service instance, and sending a first service report comprising an information about the composite service instance to a service supervision system, wherein this information enables the service supervision system to identify reports about the component service instances as being associated to the composite service instance. The invention further proposes a service composition entity for correlating the plurality of service instances, and a service supervision system for monitoring, supervising or controlling the composite service instance.
Abstract:
A method for billing in a packet data network (WISP1) comprising at least one user's terminal (MN), comprising the steps of: forming a data link between the terminal and the packet data network; requesting a user identity from the terminal; generating billing data based on the user identity; and sending the billing data to an accounting server (HAAA) of an external telecommunications network.

Abstract:
Systems, methods and program products are disclosed for determining billable usage of a communication system (10) wherein services are provided via instant communications (14). In some embodiments, the present invention provides for authorizing the fulfillment of service requests based upon information pertaining to a billable account.
Abstract:
When interworking two or more networks, such as a wireless local access network (WLAN) and a mobile communication network, user billing and service charging should be accurately collected and processed. To do so, certain types of service usage and charging information for certain users can be deleted depending upon the type of service provided to the user. Also, service usage and charging information can be periodically collected depending upon the type of service being provided. Furthermore, WLAN wireless access service usage and charging information, as well as mobile communication network service charging information can be collected upon correlation therebetween.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and software is disclosed for managing a call in a telecommunications network, in which an instruction from a calling device to establish a call to a destination is received; a first command to connect a first call leg to the calling device is issued; the first call leg to the calling device is connected; a second command to connect a second call leg to the calling device is issued; the second call leg is connected to the destination instead of the calling device; and the first and second call legs are connected to provide the call between the calling device and the destination.
Abstract:
Calls to or from a prepaid subscriber of a wireless communication network are identified as being associated with prepaid services, and a prepaid identifier is associated with the calls. The prepaid identifier and other call information such as call origin or destination is routed to a prepaid services management system in another network that determines if the call is to be authorized based on, for example, a prepaid subscriber account balance stored at the prepaid services management system. The prepaid identifier can be combined with a number associated with the call origin or destination, and the combination delivered to the prepaid services management system.
