The invention concerns a method for making boards based on hydraulic binders such as plaster, said boards having bevelled edges. Said method is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: a) a step which consists in inserting, beneath the preform (5), a lath (6, 23) whereof the length is at least approximately equal to the width of the preform (5); a step which consists in removing said lath (6, 23); and b) in cutting the preform at the bevel (8) produced by the lath (6, 23). The invention also concerns a production line for making such boards and a device used for making such boards.

A cementitious panel comprising a cementitious core (10) which is fabric-reinforced at the surface thereof (3, 12) and whose longitudinal edges are reinforced by a network of fibers. A panel may be obtained wherein the surface edge reinforcement layers are relatively strong and hard such that a nail or screw may be driven through the edge of panel without pre-drilling and without breaking, even when nailed or screwed almost at the very limit of the edge of the panel. Such a panel may provide a long lasting substrate for humid or wet areas such as shower rooms and bathrooms.

A building board comprising cementitious fibre board has first and second surface layers (20, 23) of fibres admixed with cementitious materials; and a core layer (21) of fibres admixed with cementitious material but of different composition from either of the surface layers and disposed between the surface layers and bonded thereto by interpenetrating crystal growth; and at least one layer of fibrous mesh (22) interposed between the core layer and at least one of the surface layers and bonded to each of the adjacent layers by the interpenetrating crystal growth. The board may be produced by successively spreading layers of surface and core mixes to form a fibrous cementitious assembly, with interposition of at least one layer of fibrous mesh between at least one pair of adjacent layers of the mixes; compressing the assembly to a predetermined thickness; and maintaining the pressure until hydration of the cementitious material in the assembly is substantially complete.

The invention also relates to methods for producing such boards or panels.

Pressurizable thermoplastic containers, such as those made from polyethylene terephthalate containing a polyurethane layer on the exterior surface thereof are disclosed. The polyurethane layer which is typically applied by a coating process provides the bottle with resistance to stress cracking. The containers are useful as refillable bottles for carbonated beverages which have a tendency to stress crack.
