    摘要: In a telecommunication system, channels of information are modulated onto respective carriers (Sources 1, 2, 3, 4) that are swept repeatedly across a frequency range in a time-staggered fashion so that, at any one time (t1, t2, t3 or t4), each carrier is at a different frequency (lambda1, lambda2, lambda3 lambda4). The carriers are multiplexed onto a single communications link and separated, on reception, by filters swept in synchronism so as to de-multiplex the signals.

    摘要: An iterative method for power pre-emphasis of N optical channels in a Wavelengt h Division Multiplex (WDM) signal in an optical communication systems in accordance with which representative Xi characterist ics are defined for the channels with among the characteristics there being included at least one characteristic that is a function of the Bit Error Rate (BER). The method including the iterative phases of running through the WDM signal channels and appraising for each channel said characteristics for the channel and for the channels adjacent thereto; comparing said channel characteristics with the homologous characteristics of the adjacent channels and, based on the results of the comparisons, selecting a predetermined action to be performed on the power transmitted on the ith channel; for all the channels, performing on the power of each the corresponding selected action; calculating a metric quality function of all the channels with the new powers changed with the selected actions and repeating the previous iterative phases from the beginning until the quality improvement is greater than a predetermined figure and/or a predetermined maximum number of iterations is reached.

    摘要: In order to transmit messages on an optical fiber (6), a multitude of message carrier channels (12) with different carrier frequencies, and a number of filling channels (13) are used that are transmitted together with the message carrier channels (12) over the fiber (6). The optical total power of the message carrier channels and of the filling channels is constantly held in that every change in power of the message carrier channels is compensated for by an opposite and equal change in the optical power of the filling channels. The change in the optical power of the filling channels is divided over the individual filling channels in such a manner that a minimal shifting of the center of the common spectrum of message carrier channels and of filling channels results.

    摘要: A method for activation of circuits in telecommunications networks comprises a first step in which circuits are preplanned in the network and local definition data are distributed to network members (NE) for connection of sections of the preplanned circuits. In a second step, when it is desired to activate a preplanned circuit, activation messages for the connection of sections making up the preplanned circuit to be activated and which are defined by the data previously distributed to the network members are propagated in the network in cascade among the network members affected by the preplanned circuit by means of overhead bytes of the frames circulating in the network. The data are made up of indexed tables defining pairs formed from "next point (TP) to be connected" and "index" to be propagated for the following cross-connection. A network functioning in accordance with the method is also proposed.
