    摘要: A motorcycle is provided with a body height adjustor capable of adjusting the body height of the motorcycle by changing lengths of front suspensions (8,9) and a rear cushion unit (14). The body height adjustor includes a first hydraulic jack provided for the front suspensions (8,9), a second hydraulic jack for the rear cushion unit (14) and a body height adjusting unit to transmit hydraulic pressure of hydraulic fluid in the rear cushion unit to the fisrt and second hydraulic jacks through hydraulic hoses (16,17). With the body height adjustor, the following equation is satisfied,

    X ≦ LH/5 x 10

    where

    X: difference between stroke changing quantities on an axis of the front wheel and an axis of the rear wheel;
    L: distance between axes of the front and rear wheels, so called wheel base;
    H: height of the head lamp from a ground base.
    The rear cushion unit (14) is provided with a rear oil damper and a coil spring against which the second hydraulic jack abuts and the initial load of the coil spring is changed by the hydraulic pressure in the rear cushion unit. The second hydraulic jack is movable in a direction towards the coil spring with respect to the rear oil damper to change the initial load of the spring. The first hydraulic jack is provided with a cylinder chanber, a piston incorporated in the cylinder chanber and an spring disposed between an end portion of the cylinder chamber and the piston so as to urge the piston in a direction opposite to a direction of hydraulic pressure.

    摘要: A motorcycle having a body height adjustor (18) in which a body height adjusting unit (15) transmits the hydraulic pressure of a pressure fluid in the rear cushion unit (14) simultaneously to hydraulic jacks of the rear cushion unit and the front suspension units (8,9) to change the lengths of front suspensions and a rear cushion unit and to thereby adjust the body height. A hose connector (19) for connecting the body height adjusting unit (15) and the hydraulic jacks of the front suspensions is disposed at the rear of the front suspension and in front of the body height adjusting unit. The hydraulic hoses (30,16,17) are laid along a line corresponding to the center of the front fork in the widthwise direction. A blow valve (463) incorporated in the body height adjusting unit is opened by the operation of turning OFF the ignition switch (475) to forcibly set the motorcycle body to a lower position. The position of a body height changeover valve incorporated in the body height adjusting unit is detected to indicate the present body height by a body height position indicator, or a see-through window (631) is formed in the casing of the hydrualic jack of the rear cushion unit to enable the rider to confirm the body height.

A driving mechanism for rotating the rocker shaft is connected to one end of the rocker shaft and comprises a hydraulic cylinder (15), a rack (16) connected thereto and a pinion (17) formed on the one end of the rocker shaft so as to be engaged with the rack from the upper side of the cylinder head. A stopper mechanism for controlling a sliding position of the rocker shaft is composed of a stopper groove formed to the cylinder head, a stopper screw (36) engaged with the stopper groove (32) and a stopper member disposed to the other end portion of the rocker shaft.

The battery box is subjected to a water-proof treatment. An electric equipment such as a starter relay is also accommodated in the battery box together with the battery. The battery box may be divided into two compartments, one being for accommodating the battery and another being for accommodting a plurality of electric equipments, by a partition plate formed integrally with an inner wall of the battery box.
