    摘要： An infant warmer (1) for use in a Healthcare environment for the examination and treatment of newborn babies. A vertical column (3) supports an infra-red radiant heater (6) above a support structure (4) on which the baby is positioned. The support structure (4) is cantilevered from the column (3). The column (3) is carried by a base section (9) which is provided with wheels (14) to allow the infant warmer (1) to be easily transported. The base section (9) includes an automated height adjustment mechanism which allows a user to easily adjust the height of the support structure (5) by raising or lowering the column (3). The infant warmer (1) is made in a modular fashion to be easily customised for any particular environment or special requirement by constructing the column (3) from a "U" shaped extrusion which allows various Healthcare modules (19) to be inserted as required to suit particular requirements.

The traverse mechanism allows the heater 36 that is focused on or about the infant positioned on the infant care center to be moved aside for better access to the infant, yet, as the heater 36 is moved, the traverse mechanism automatically adjusts the heater such that its focus remains on the infant so that even at various points along a locus, the footprint of heat on or about the infant remains relatively constant.
