    摘要: A droplet generator for a continuous stream ink jet print head comprising: an elongate cavity (13) for containing the ink; nozzle orifices (7) communicating from within to without said cavity (13) for passing ink from the cavity (13) to form jets, said nozzle orifices (7) extending along the length of said cavity (13); actuator means (3) for vibrating the ink in said cavity (13) such that each said jet breaks up into ink droplets at the same predetermined distance from its respective nozzle orifice (7), said actuator means (3) being disposed on the opposite side of said cavity (13) to said nozzle orifices (7); and extending between said actuator means (3) and said nozzle orifices (7) a surrounding wall of said cavity (13) for containing the ink between said actuator means (3) and said nozzle orifices (7), said surrounding wall comprising inner and outer constituent walls, the resistive component of the wave impedance of said outer wall being such that the outer wall passively damps vibration of the inner wall by dissipating its vibration, the reactive component of the wave impedance of said outer wall being such that the outer wall actively restrains vibration of the inner wall, said outer wall thereby ensuring that each said jet breaks up into ink droplets at said same predetermined distance from its respective nozzle orifice (7).

    摘要: In a continuous jet type ink jet recording apparatus, a delay time corresponding to a delay by the air resistance which varies in response to the dot size is provided to each dot. A delay pulse generator DPG delays an encoder clock signal f E (dot recording clock signal) by an integral number of times the period of a disintegrating frequency signal f d in response to pixel data D P read out in synchronism with the encoder clock signal f E from a line buffer LB, and outputs an encoder clock signal f E *. A pixel buffer PB stores the pixel data D P in a first-in first-out fashion in synchronism with the encoder clock signal f E and outputs the pixel data D P in synchronism with the encoder clock signal f E *. A pulse width modulator PWM modulates the pixel data D P into a charge control signal S C * of a pulse width corresponding to a value of the pixel data D P in synchronism with the encoder clock signal f E *. Consequently, a delay time corresponding to the pixel data D P is provided in advance to a recording ink drop train, and the delay by the air resistance is compensated for.

    摘要: An ink jet printing device has a drop generator for producing continuous streams of ink drops from at least one orifice and further has stimulation control electronics for maintaining desired stimulation conditions in response to a feedback from the drop generator. First and second feedback transducers measure the stimulation amplitude in the drop generator and generate feedback output signals in response to the stimulation. The feedback output signals are approximately equal in magnitude and opposite in sign to each other when the stimulation amplitude in the drop generator is a desired stimulation mode. An amplifier, whose inputs are the feedback output signals, provides an amplifier output signal to the stimulation control electronics which is the difference between the two feedback output signals.
