The present invention relates to phosphor, arsenic and antimony compounds based upon diaryl-anellated bicyclo`2.2.n! parent substances. The invention also relates to a method for producing the same and a catalyst which comprises at least one complex of a metal pertaining to the VIII. subgroup, whereby said complex has such a compound as the ligand. The invention further relates to the use of said catalysts for hydroformylation, hydrocyanation, carbonylation, hydrogenation, olefin oligomerisation, olefin polymerisation and metathesis.
