    摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus is provided with a recording function to record images on a sheet material by installing an ink jet recording head that discharges ink from the ink discharge ports, and also, with an image reading function to read images from a sheet material by installing an image reading head exchangeably. This apparatus includes the discharge port surface of the ink jet recording head having the ink discharge ports formed on it, the image reading surface of the image reading head to read images to this head from the image reading surface, and a member that abuts upon the ink discharge port surface arranged to be in contact with the ink discharge port surface of the ink jet recording head. This member is arranged so as not to be in contact with the image reading surface of the image reading head. Thus the image reading surface of the image reading head is prevented from being stained by ink. Also, this apparatus can be made smaller with a simple structure to provide both reading and recording functions.

    摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus, which is provided with a blade (14) for wiping the surface of discharge openings (13) of an ink jet recording head (3), and a blade cleaner (17) for removing ink adhering to the blade (14), comprises cleaning means (15) for cleaning the blade by enabling the blade cleaner (17) and the blade (14) to reciprocate correlatively. This cleaning means (15) is provided with means for causing the blade cleaner (17) to be in elastically contact with the blade (14) intensively without rotating the blade cleaner (17) when the cleaning means (15) moves forward, and for causing the blade cleaner (17) to rotate to be in elastically contact with the blade (14) weakly when the cleaning means (15) moves backward. With the structure thus arranged, it is possible to reduce the spreading of ink from the blade (14) into the interior of the ink jet recording apparatus significantly. Therefore, the surface of discharge openings (13) of the ink jet recording head (3) can be cleaned by means of a blade (14) in good condition to make it possible to operate cleaning in the most suitable mode.
