    摘要: There are provided an optical disc (1) and an optical recording apparatus to form a tracking groove onto an optically recordable disc. This apparatus comprises a recording beam generator (2) to generate a recording beam such as a laser beam having a predetermined spot size so as to form a pattern of a predetermined width onto the disc; a light deflector (6) arranged on an optical path of the recording beam generator; and a driver (12) for driving the light deflector (6), for reciprocatingly moving the recording beam in a radial direction of the disc (1) at a high frequency, and for multi-exposing the disc (1) by the recording beam due to the movement of the recording beam in the radial direction, thereby a groove having a width wider than the pattern of the predetermined width is formed. With this apparatus, both of the discrete information pattern and a groove are formed by using a single recording beam. Namely, both of the pits and a wide groove can be formed by using a single recording spot.

    摘要: To provide a high density optical recording medium, capable of realizing the complete compatibility with a phase change recording medium with respect to an optical pickup or a drive device, using a short wavelength light for achieving a high recording density. The present invention provides an optical recording medium configuration for directly reading out the change of the reflectance without using the phase modulation method. An optical recording medium according to the present invention is an optical recording medium having a recording film of a single layer or multiple layer structure on a substrate (1), wherein the recording film is mainly made of an organic substance material layer (2) for absorbing and decomposing a laser beam, and generating the refractive index change as well as the reflectance of the optical recording medium with respect to a reproduction laser beam of a 380 nm to 450 nm wavelength is 15% to 25% before the decomposition, and 0% to 10% after the decomposition.

In the electron beam irradiation head (6), an electron beam path (20) communicating with the electron beam emission hole (5) is provided, and in addition one or more ring shaped gas suction grooves (61) and (62) opened from a surface of the electron beam irradiation head facing the electron beam irradiation subject is formed around the electron beam emission hole (5). Vacuum pumps are coupled to the electron beam path (20) and the ring shaped gas suction grooves (61) and (62), and the electron beam path is held in a high vacuum state.
