A hydraulic anti-backlash element is located on the armature (1), or between the armature (1) and the valve or valve shaft, whereby the anti-backlash element has a piston (4) which is displaceably mounted in a piston chamber (19). Pressure-generating elements (20, 24) transport a liquid medium via at least one supply line (21) into the piston chamber (19) and generate a working pressure in said chamber which impinges upon the piston (4) in the direction of the valve. A parallel system, consisting of a non-return valve and a pressure-relief valve connects the supply line(s) (21) to the piston chamber (19) of the anti-backlash element.
