    摘要: The invention relates to handheld injection devices by which set doses of a liquid medicament can be injected from a medical reservoir, such as cylinder ampoule, by release of a power reservoir in the device. The power reservoir can either be an electric battery by which a motor can be energized to press out a set dose of medicine, or a cocked spring maintained in its cocked position by a detent which spring when released can press out a set dose of medicine. When the power reservoir is released, the liquid medicine will be pressed out from the cylinder ampoule through an injection needle mounted on the cylinder ampoule or on the injection device carrying the cylinder ampoule. The power reservoir is released fully or partially by activating a release button, such as an electric switch, located on the housing of the injection device and in the distal half of the length of the injection device. By making at least a part of the distal third of the injection device of an ergonomic shaped cross section, the user can grip the injection device as a pencil is gripped by a thumb, an index finger and a long finger. This will provide a much steadier grip.

    摘要: A flexible piston rod for an injection device, which piston has the form of a helical spring made up from a number of narrowly adjacent turns of windings. These turns provide an external thread, which thread fits into the internal thread of a nut element. When the nut element is rotated the piston rod is advanced forward, which movement is used to displace a piston inside a cartridge containing a fluid to be expelled. In order to prevent the piston rod from rotating when the nut element is rotated, the helical spring making up the piston rod is provided with a longitudinal spine, which is located at a peripheral area of the helical spring. The spine can either be a mechanical removal of a part of the out-turned area of each winding, or it can be a reduction or removal of an initial tension in a longitudinal area of the helical spring.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a drug delivery device wherein a dose to be apportioned from a cartridge is set by changing the relative position of co-operating dose setting elements (3, 5) and is injected by pressing a button (5) until this button abuts a stop (6).
